The multi-genre Boston band return with the release of a 5 track EP made up of previously unfinished songs that were recorded during sessions for their fourth album Free Yourself Out. It’s the perfect soundtrack for a winter walk through the park.

The 5 tracks treat the listener to a wonderful showcase of the Lake Street Dive sound. From the rock and jazz of Daryl, the seductive jazz sounds on Jameson and the country/folk vibes on display on Who do you think you are and Angioplast, it’s a perfect blend of genres.

The track Young Boy is the power and backbone of the EP, displaying the quintessential Lake Street Drive sound. Short, sharp four part harmonies, a flowing acoustic guitar and a powerful bassline holding the song together. This all topped off by the gloriously powerful vocals of lead singer Rachael Price.

Freak Yourself Out is a perfect starter pack for anyone looking to get into Lake Street Dive’s music. Through their 10 year history they have created a beautiful array of music, with a selection perfect for any occasion.

Lake Street Dive will be paying a visit to Edinburgh in April 2019, playing the Queens Hall on the 29th.
