Scottish pianist Alan Benzie joined ENRG presenter Allan Boughey for an interview on Sunday afternoon. The pair talk through Benzie’s latest projects, his trio performance at this years festival, and his love for Esbjorn Svensson.
Alan Benzie won the BBC Young Scottish Jazz Musician of the Year award at the age of 17 and has gone on to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and is now one of the signature names in the New Wave of Scottish Jazz. He is the leader of The Alan Benzie Trio, and a member of Mezcla and Fat Suit, as well as playing keys for the newly formed progressive rock/jazz group Animal Society.
